Closure of problem address in Sedgehill area |
Please review the following update regarding Anti Social Behaviour which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. Today, officers from Bellingham SNT attended Bromley Magistrates' Court for a full closure order on an address in the Sedgehill area that had issues with drug-related anti-social behaviour and other ongoing issues that was causing a decline in the quality of life for the local residents. This order was granted for a period of three months to stop this problematic behaviour. Bellingham officers, supported by Sydenham and Lewisham local neighbourhood officers assisted in serving the closure order on the address, meaning that all occupants had to leave. The address has since been secured against re-entry. Officers will be patrolling around that area to ensure the closure order is adhered to. Your local officers are working closely with the local authority and housing associations to disrupt any anti-social behaviour. Police will be closely liaising with the local housing association of the property in order for the housing association to repossess the property in the future. Antisocial behaviour can come in many forms and can require support from more organisations than just the police. There are 13 different types of antisocial behaviour that we may be able to help with, including abandoned vehicles, littering or drugs paraphernalia and street drinking. A full list of what we categorise as antisocial behaviour is available on our website.
If you have witnessed or experienced antisocial behaviour, you can report it online.
