Successful Arrest Following ANPR Hit and Foot Chase – KEW / EAST SHEEN / NORTH RICHMOND

On Wednesday 14th May 2025, an ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) camera triggered at Kew Bridge. The vehicle was flagged as having been involved in a previous police ‘Fail to Stop’ and was linked to drug dealing.

Local officers patrolling Kew spotted the vehicle. Unaware of police presence, it travelled southbound along Mortlake Road (A205) and into East Sheen. An initial interaction with the driver was attempted in order to stop the vehicle. The driver then proceeded to throw a white bag out of the passenger window and made off. Officers caught up with the driver, who had abandoned the vehicle, and subsequently employed the old but not forgotten traditional police chase. This method proved successful:

•            1x Male detained

•            1x Saloon car seized

•            3x iPhones seized

•            36x Bags of Class B drugs seized

The male was arrested for PWITS (Possession With Intent to Supply) and transferred to custody. Further investigative work will be carried out to bring this offender to justice. A job well done by officers from Kew, East Sheen, and North Richmond.
