Recent shoplifting arrest

We wanted to share the below good news story with you all. 
 

On the 1st June 2025 officers from Wimbledon Park, Raynes Park and Wimbledon Village responded to an emergency call of a shoplifter who had stolen a large amount of alcohol. We arrived on scene and managed to locate the suspect in the local area, the suspect was arrested on the suspicion of shoplifting totalling approximately £900. 

All goods have since been returned to the store (undamaged) and the suspect has been interviewed and charged with theft. The suspect was also further arrested in custody as they were wanted on recall to prison.
 

Local shops play a big role in the community as they’re some of the most dynamic and accessible places in the city. A place that can become as familiar as your home. As such we want to make sure these areas are protected throughout all hours of the day and night. If you notice anything suspicious or witness anyone shoplifting, please report it as soon as possible. These reports are invaluable in letting us build a picture of when and where shop lifters operate, meaning we can be in the right place at the right time to arrest those responsible.
