ANPR Operation

Good morning 

You may have noticed an increased police presence in the area yesterday

This was due to your local team conducting an ANPR (Automatic number plate recognition) operation, this was supported by specialist traffic and dog section officers.

Through the day officers stopped in excess of 100 vehicles for a variety of reasons of which 14 were seized for offences ranging from Drug driving to not having a driving licence,

There were also 5 arrests, 2 of which were for people driving whilst under the influence of drugs. one male was riding a stolen motorbike who then failed to stop for officers, however after a short pursuit he was detained and arrested.
