Operation Blue Parrot - Vehicle Crime

As part of Neighbourhoods Week, Tower Hamlets Taskforce (THTF) Team 2 led an ANPR operation targeting vehicle crime around Tower Hamlets. The operation, undertaken on Thursday, 26 June, resulted in 2 arrests (totaling 8 offences), 3 drivers report for traffic offences, 2 vehicles seized, 10 vehicles intercepted, 3 phones seized (believed to be involved with drug offences) and over £1,000 in cash seized. 

During the operation, officers’ attention was drawn to a vehicle after it failed to stop for police. A pursuit followed and the vehicle was safely stopped by officers who had to extract the driver and passenger out of the vehicle. Arrests were made for a number of offences including dangerous driving, no insurance, and drug offences. The arrests included members of known Organised Crime Groups.
