Beckenham Update

Good News Stories 

The team wanted to share the good news stories that have occurred in the local area this week, following the work the team has been doing. This is the work that the teams of Beckenham Town and Copers Cope, Clock House, Kelsey and Eden Park and Shortlands and Park Langley have been a part of. 

 

PC Ridley arrested a well-known shoplifter, for several shoplifting offences, she was also arrested for failing to attend court. The female was charged and remanded on bail pending her sentence.

 

Cuckooing Visits have been conducted by the teams across the whole of the Bromley borough, to safeguard vulnerable people alongside the Project Adder Team for County Lines Intensification Week (CLIW). Cuckooing is when Organised Crime Groups (OCGs) or perpetrators take over properties through force, deceit or coercion.

 

PCSO’s have attended the Harvington Summer Fair, providing a great opportunity for some community engagement. 

 

PCSO Charles has attended problem solving training this week and has brought back a range of information the teams can use to make the communities/ local areas safer. 

 

The teams conducted an ANPR Operation targeting speeding in the local area. A vehicle was stopped on Avenue Road, Beckenham, the male driving was arrested for driving under the influence of cannabis by PC Brown. This week the male went to court and has been disqualified from driving for 12 months, he was also received a traffic fine for speeding.

The teams have noticed an increase in vehicle offences, including theft of and theft from motor vehicles across the wards.
