National Ninja Sword Amnesty

HANDING IN A WEAPON COULD SAVE A LIFE - INCLUDING YOUR OWN

In July , the Home Office are running a surrender scheme across England & Wales to offer safe disposal of ninja swords at designated police stations. If you own a ninja sword purchased before March 27, 2025, you may be eligible for compensation. Ninja swords purchased after that date can be surrendered but are not eligible for compensation.

Parents & Carers

Talk to your children about the dangers of knife carrying - open conversations save lives.

Find information on how to spot warning signs of weapon carrying from your local police force or charities – e.g. changes in behaviour, new friends, unexplained items, staying out late, increased secrecy, or sudden interest in weapons.

Support your child in safely surrendering weapons

For Haringey & Enfield - Edmonton Police Station has been selected as the designated site to surrender ninja swords. However, it is possible to still safely surrender these weapons at any 24hr police station front counter.

Items must be wrapped up and placed in a sealed bag or box. They must not be carried openly at any time. Carrying bladed articles in public without a good reason or lawful authority is an offence.

Once in the police station, they must not take out the item until they are requested to do so by a police officer or member of police staff.

Police stations are only accepting ninja swords, not other weapons.

For other types of knives, Word 4 Weapons currently has 47 knife amnesty bins placed across London with 3 placed in the following locations locally:

Tottenham Green, Phillip Lane, London N15 4JA

White Hart Lane Recreation Ground, 59 White Hart Lane, Wood Green N22 5SJ

North Middlesex University Hospital, Sterling Way, London, N18 1QX

A mobile surrender van will also be operated by FazAmnesty and will be stationed in Greater London, West Midlands, and Greater Manchester at certain dates during the extended surrender period. The mobile surrender van will provide a safe way to dispose of knives and offensive weapons without entering a police station.

The van will be at the following locations locally:

23rd July 2025

2pm-5pm

Vue Cinema – Wood Green High Road, 180 High Road, London, N22 6EJ

31st July 2025

9am-5pm

The Green, Monmouth Road, London N9 0LS
