LOCAL SOUTH EAST 999 OFFICERS TRACK DOWN STOLEN CAR 15 MINUTES AFTER IT WAS STOLEN

LOCAL SOUTH EAST 999 OFFICERS TRACK DOWN STOLEN CAR 15 MINUTES AFTER IT WAS STOLEN

Officers from the south east 999 response team were called to reports of a stolen Lexus UX250. The criminals used a decoder device to commit the keyless theft. This method tricks the car into thinking the real key fob is being used to unlock the car and switch on the engine. At 03:19am, officers responded to the theft.

The request of local traffic cameras and Kent police were made to support the finding of this vehicle. After 15 minutes, officers found the vehicle in the Bexley area with 2 suspects still on site along with the digital theft devices.

Both suspects were arrested and the stolen vehicle was recovered. The officers had a bonus as a second car used by the suspects to travel around committing thefts was also stolen. Local Police in the south east continue to tackle vehicle theft.
