Ward update |
||
Morning all.
It's summer and things are really busy due to the usual protests in London and now all the summer events that have to be policed. Abstractions from the ward will be incurred. This is the second and last weekend of the Wireless Festival at Finsbury Park so at least that is out the way until next year. Loud individuals singing on the train going home can be so annoying at times. I can't say I know any of the artist they go on about. I'll settle for the likes of Genesis and Nile Rodgers. Nile is still doing the rounds as I saw him last weekend.
Anyway back to work. The next episode of what's been going on is here. I've not included the shoplifting. That is a working progress. 27th - Well the dippers are out and about again. Victim had her phone stolen from her pram whilst shopping on the Broadway. 29th - Another shoplifter on the Broadway reported. 01st - ASB - Juveniles throwing stones from the bridge on St James Lane. This is a concern regarding criminal damage of harm to others. 03rd - Phone snatch on the Broadway by suspects on bicycle. 03rd - Damage to a vehicle parked on the Broadway. Rear window smashed. 03rd - Phone snatch on the Broadway by suspects on bicycle. 04th - Phone snatch on the Woodside Avenue by 3 suspects on lime hire bicycles. 06th - Phone snatch from victim whilst on Fortis Green Road. Suspect on bicycle. 06th - Residential Burglary on Wellfield Road. Broke into garage. 06th - Phone snatch from victim whilst on Fortis Green Road. Suspects on bicycle. 08th - Phone snatch from victim whilst sat at bus stop on the Broadway. Two suspects on bikes. 09th - Attempt Burglary at an address on Muswell Hill. Marks to front door but no entry gained. 11th - Rear window of vehicle broken whilst parked on Elms Avenue.
Regarding vehicle crime we have gone from Catalytic Convertors to steering wheels, then headlights and now rear boot shelves. Who organised this ? Also you can see we have has a spate of phone snatches recently. Whilst out and about we will advise people as they walk about preoccupied looking at their phone screens to notice what is going on around them.
The new MET ENGAGE social site ( metengage.co.uk) is coming along and I appreciate those who have already signed up for it. People are already writing in with concerns and enquires which we are replying back to. Just remember this is not a sight to report a crime. 101, 999 or met.police.uk for that. Nextdoor and the email system we currently use will no doubt disappear at some stage. I'm sure you are all still wanting to read my engaging waffle with a hint of humour.
Anyway, keep in touch…… Your friendly neighbourhood police team.
