Local Priorities Violence against women and girls Message

I wanted to provide an update regarding Violence against women and girls, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

Today 17th July 2025 Officers from the South Bermondsey Safer Neighbourhood team conducted an arrest enquiry whereby a male was wanted for a Public order offence Racially aggravated the male was arrested for the offence and currently being dealt with by the team , violence against women and girls is taken very seriously and the team acted swiftly to apprehend the suspect .

We take violence against women and girls incredibly seriously and will do everything in our power to ensure those who commit these crimes see justice. We also provide advice for everyone on how to keep one another safe.
