Local Priorities Drug dealing/ drug use Update

I wanted to provide an update regarding drug dealing / drug use, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

Hi,

Just an update to show that the information you share is valuable and is important to us.

Back in June, a local resident on Belmont Street highlighted a White Moped, which was dealing drugs to users at the location. A short while later in the month, there was a massive fight on the same street, which resulted in this moped being located. It was consequently searched and found inside a large quantity of Class B drugs and an imitation firearm. It would transpire that this moped was on false plates and had been reported stolen by its owner.

All were seized for forensic opportunities, which lead yesterday to the arrest of a 17 year male on suspicion of possessing an firearm, drug supply offences and breach of Community Protection Notice.

Again, a big thank you for sharing the information and please, please keep it coming and share around.

Regards,
