Retail Crime Day - Results

On Tuesday 18th November, Officers from Ealing Broadway and West Ealing/Hanwell did a 'Retail crime focus day'. Prior to this day, we worked with our Business Improvement District and other businesses to draw up a list of our top 15 prolific shoplifters. Officers were joined by local councillors throughout the day too.
 

Officers Achieved  & Completed:
5 Community Protection Warning's
1 Community Protection Notice's
4 arrests (all of prolific offenders)
2 foot-chases
8 hours of high visibility patrols in the town centre.

A female had been a suspect on 17 shoplifting investigations in 2025. She was arrested for theft and burglary and is remanded in custody until 9th December. Her address will be closed and she will be moved to supported living following welfare concerns. 
 

Another male who was a repeat shoplifter at Sainsburys was arrested for breaching his Criminal Behaviour Order and 2 counts of shoplifting of over £350 worth of wine. He is now banned from entering Ealing Broadway and Hanwell.
 

Officers also attended a street briefing down Grosvenor Road W13 and gathered information from residents on how officers and teams can better police the areas you as residents live in.
