⚠️ Scam Alert – Leytonstone Leisure Centre Car Park (Lincoln Street) Residents are urged to be extremely cautious. A group of scammers is operating in the car park of Leytonstone Leisure Centre, targeting vulnerable customers. Modus Operandi: They approach victims at the pay machines claiming: - The victim’s payment has not gone through, or
- They need help paying as they “don’t have a card,” offering a £20 note if the victim pays using their own card.
Victims are then directed to a tampered machine, and it is believed the scammers later clone the card.Safety Advice:
✅ Do not assist strangers with payment requests.
✅ Use only official machines and check for signs of tampering.
✅ Report any suspicious activity immediately to leisure centre staff or the police. |
