E-BIKES

Good afternoon, my names Ben Jury and I am the new Battersea cluster SNT Inspector covering your wards.

We held our New Met For London Roadshow last month and we listened to your good selves and heard your concerns around E-Bikes both being used in crime but also used in an antisocial manner. You are not alone. This is being echoed across London.

Just to keep you updated, both myself and my team are working on a plan to tackle both issues and although this takes a little time linking in with partners both within the police, public and private sector we will come up with a plan to deal.

In the meantime an update for you, One of my teams stopped and seized a high powered E-Bike being ridden recklessly along St Johns Road recently, as it crossed the road at speed with no consideration for road users but more importantly no consideration for pedestrians as he narrowly missed those walking on the path having mounted the kerb.  Due to the wattage 920w the rider was processed for driving offences.
