In the lead up to Christmas many of us are using cash machines more frequently. Be aware of ATM distraction theft where criminals create a diversion to steal your cash or card, often by bumping into you or asking a question. To protect yourself, where possible use cash machines located within banks, be aware of your surroundings, cover your PIN, and ignore distractions. If your card gets stuck, do not leave without it; immediately contact your bank to freeze the account. Secure your card and cash put your card and cash away immediately after the transaction is complete.
