Hi Resident I thought you would appreciate an update in regards to your team. Merton Park ward covers everything from the Tube side of London road, down to Kingston Road, and Dorset Road! We even take a chunk of Morden Hall Park, so that's plenty of boot leather burned each week. This might answer the age old question, “We don't see you!” On top of us are response teams and all the specialist departments all looking after you. We have two police officers and two police community support officers stomping the beat, but you might find us in Morden Town Centre looking after the shops. One of the main issues we have on the ward is people thinking that they don't have to pay for lunches and goods, so we are there to remind them. In October, the shops saw an overall drop in shoplifting by 41%, so we were very proud. We're often joined by the St Helier team who work the other side of the street, and are fortunate that the officers are proactive there too. I believe our new officer has arrested 19 people in the last month, just in our wards alone. This includes driving whilst under the influence of drugs, traffic issues, shoplifting, ASB and more.
