A man has been convicted following a shoplifting incident in South Croydon.
On 21 February 2026, officers from the South Croydon Safer Neighbourhood Team were conducting a policing operation at Sainsbury’s, Brighton Road, South Croydon, in response to ongoing reports of thefts from the store.
During the operation, Zac Williams entered the premises and stole £11 worth of steak without making any attempt to pay. Williams fled the scene on foot. Officers carried out searches across the wider area, and he was located and arrested in Coulsdon by Sergeant Bawden.
Williams appeared at Croydon Magistrates’ Court today, where he was convicted of Theft.
