Police in the West Area have secured a five‑year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) against Gurpreet SINGH who is responsible for a series of shoplifting and handling stolen goods offences across the borough. On 23 October 2025, staff at a retail store in Ealing detained two men who had placed multiple high‑value items into bags before leaving without payment. Officers attended and arrested both individuals. A subsequent search carried out under Section 32 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act uncovered several bank cards, Oyster cards and identification documents not belonging to the suspect. Further enquiries revealed a pattern of repeated thefts from the same retailer over a two‑week period, resulting in significant financial losses. On 23 February 2026, the primary suspect pleaded guilty to shoplifting and handling stolen goods. They received a financial penalty and a concurrent custodial sentence. Following this, officers from the Violence and Casework Team (VCT) successfully applied for a CBO, which will remain in place for five years (23/02/2026 – 23/02/2031). Local officers continue to work closely with retailers to target persistent theft and safeguard the community.
