Message from Acting Chief Inspector Dave Holgate As we move further into 2026, our focus across Redbridge remains clear: reducing crime, addressing anti‑social behaviour, and ensuring the public receive the high‑quality service they deserve. Our teams continue to work tirelessly with partners, residents, and local businesses to keep Redbridge safe. The latest performance data and recent operational successes reflect both the professionalism of our officers and the value of strong community partnerships. Crime Performance Overview (Latest 4‑Week Period) Anti‑Social Behaviour (ASB) This reduction reflects focused patrol activity and sustained work with the council to address persistent hotspots. Personal Robbery Our visibility in town centres and transport hubs continues to disrupt offenders and protect vulnerable victims. Vehicle Crime Operational Highlights – February 2026 Ilford Town Centre: E‑Bike & E‑Scooter Enforcement Operation The newly formed Ilford Town Centre Team conducted its first dedicated operation on 26 February following repeated community concerns. High‑visibility patrols led to: The operation was positively welcomed by traders and continues as part of sustained town‑centre policing. Criminal Behaviour Order Breach – 8‑Week Imprisonment On 24 February, Ilford officers arrested a male wanted on recall and for breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order. Subsequent CCTV review identified two additional breaches, leading to further arrests and an 8‑week custodial sentence. Three Juveniles Arrested – Taking a Motor Vehicle On 11 February, officers detained three juveniles after they attempted to flee on mopeds in Manor Road. One vehicle was confirmed lost or stolen. All three were arrested for taking a motor vehicle without consent, with one also arrested for possession of cannabis. Robbery Arrests – Woodford Station On 21 February, a teenager was robbed near Woodford Station. CCTV operators identified suspects shortly afterwards, enabling officers to quickly arrest two males. Three individuals have since been charged and remanded. Knife Seizure – Redbridge Lane West Mid‑February, officers conducting stop‑and‑search activity recovered a knife concealed in the waistband of a male, who was then charged with possession of a bladed article. Looking Ahead Our priority remains clear: targeted, visible, and community‑focused policing across Redbridge. The data demonstrates both progress and areas where continued attention is required. We will maintain our commitment to reducing violence, tackling ASB, and ensuring offenders who cause harm are brought to justice.
