🚨 Stay Alert. Stay Safe. Protect Your Belongings. 🚨
Hi All,
We’ve seen a rise in robbery and snatch‑theft reports locally, with suspects targeting the things many of us carry every day — mobile phones, cash, and USB power banks. These crimes happen fast. A moment of distraction is all offenders need.
✅ Keep Your Phone Safe· Avoid using your phone openly while walking near roads or cycle routes. · Hold it securely with both hands when navigating or messaging outdoors. · If listening to music, keep the device in a zipped pocket or bag, not in your hand.
✅ Protect Cash & Small Valuables· Keep cash, cards, and wallets in front pockets or zipped compartments. · Avoid counting money in public spaces. · Carry only what you need for the day.
✅ Look After Power Banks & Tech· Power banks and small devices are easy for thieves to grab. · Store them deep inside your bag, not in external pockets. · If you're charging on the go, stay close to your belongings.
✅ Stay Aware of Your Surroundings· Offenders may approach on bikes, e‑scooters, mopeds, or on foot. · If something feels wrong, trust your instincts and move to a safer, busier place. · Stick to well‑lit streets after dark and avoid isolated shortcuts.
✅ Travel Smart· Keep bags zipped and worn across your body. · Don’t display expensive items unnecessarily. · When stopping to check directions, stand with your back to a wall or shop front.
🚨 If a robbery happens: Call Police immediately· Call 999 if the suspect is still nearby or you feel unsafe. · Call 101 or report online as soon as possible if the suspect has gone. · If you’re in danger right now — always call us. · Your report helps us identify hotspots, target suspects, and keep your community safe.
Together we keep Acton safe.Look out for one another. Share this advice. Stay alert — not afraid.
