Enforcement and community engagement across Wembley |
||
|
A productive day of enforcement and community engagement across Wembley today.
During today’s activity, officers seized: 🔹 2 delivery mopeds found to have no valid insurance. These vehicles were being used on busy public roads, putting both the riders and other road users at risk. 🔹 3 illegal e‑bikes, all fitted with motors approximately three times the legal limit, with top speeds reaching around 50 km/h. These are not classed as ordinary e‑bikes and cannot be used on public roads or cycle lanes. Their speed and power make them extremely dangerous, particularly in crowded urban areas. 🔹 2 illegal e‑scooters, also removed from the streets. Privately owned e‑scooters remain illegal to use on public roads, pavements and shared spaces, and continue to contribute to reports of anti‑social riding and collisions.
Alongside seizures, officers carried out high‑visibility patrols throughout the day in key areas where the community has raised concerns about ASB riding, speeding and congestion. Patrols took place on: • Wembley High Road
These proactive patrols help us deter unsafe riding, increase visibility, and support local residents and businesses.
We remain committed to tackling dangerous vehicles, improving road safety, and responding to community concerns. If you witness illegal riding, anti-social behaviour, or unsafe vehicles in your area, please report this to us so we can take action.
