North Area Update following Golders Green Terrorist Incident

Following yesterday’s tragic incident in Golders Green, we understand the concern this will cause across our communities. Our thoughts remain with the victims and all those affected.

The Metropolitan Police Service has confirmed this has been declared a terrorist incident, and a man has been arrested. Two people who were injured are being treated in hospital and are in a stable condition.

We want to reassure residents across Haringey that there is no intelligence to suggest any wider, ongoing threat at this time. However, as a precaution and to provide reassurance, there will be an increased police presence across the borough, particularly around faith venues and community locations.

You will see local neighbourhood officers carrying out high-visibility patrols and engaging with community leaders and faith groups. We are working closely with partners to ensure everyone feels safe and supported.

We encourage anyone with concerns to speak with officers on patrol, and to remain vigilant and report anything suspicious to police.
