Burglary With the hot weather now upon us, please ensure all entry points to your home are securely locked and that blinds or curtains are closed when you are away. Visible security measures such as alarms, CCTV cameras and clear signage are highly effective deterrents. Always lock doors and windows, keep valuables and spare keys out of sight and maintain secure boundaries by keeping hedges and shrubbery well trimmed.

Artifice Burglary (also known as distraction burglary or "bogus calling") Is a crime where an offender uses tricks, deceit, or lies to gain access to a person’s home to steal from them. It involves manipulating the occupant to enter the premises, often targeting the elderly or vulnerable under false pretences.
Please remain vigilant, if someone knocks on your door claiming to be a builder, from the water or gas board, or even the police - ask to see their identification and if unsure, please call 999 and let the operator know what is happening.
