Local Priorities Shoplifting Concern Update - Prolific Shoplifter- Arrested and Charged for 15 Offences |

I wanted to provide you an update regarding Shoplifting, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. Officers have yesturday arrested and charged a 38 year old female for 15 offences of Theft . Neighbourhood officers from Homerton have been investigateing series of Theft offences from Bussiness across Homerton and Hackney Central for the past week. Officer's obtained CCTV and Identified the female and following an undercover Operation the suspect was located and arrested on Mare Street E8 Yesturday morning. The female has been charged with these 13 Offences and a further 2 Theft offences which occured in Dalston. Shoplifting is a crime that can have a substantial negative impact on local businesses across London. If you notice anything suspicious or witness anyone shoplifting, please report it as soon as possible. These reports are invaluable in letting us build a picture of when and where shop lifters operate, meaning we can be in the right place at the right time to arrest those responsible.
