Phone theft on Kings Road

Chelsea Safer Neighbourhood Officers on foot patrol on the Kings Road this afternoon were approached by a member of the public who stated her phone had been stolen while they were trying on shoes in a shop. 

Officers watched the CCTV from the premises and witnessed a woman sitting behind the victim and covering up her phone with a large shoulder bag. The victims phone had been left behind her on the bench where she was trying on shoes.

Suspect left along with the phone.

The theft took seconds. Please keep your phone with you at all times. It is very easy to be distracted. Shops can be busy, so remove the temptation and put your phone away unless you need it.

Another situation is where people are in cafes or restaurants, especially when outside, and the phones are left on the table.

Please don't give thieves the opportunity.
