We wanted to share a quick update about dangerous driving in your area. Please be assured we’re working to keep everyone safe. Dear Residents,
We are pleased to share some excellent news. On the 30th July 2026 a Car Meet Injunction was granted by a High Court Judge at the Royal Courts of Justice.
For a number of years, organised car meets have taken place in several Wards in Westminster causing disruption to local residents and negatively impacting nearby businesses. While enforcement activity has been carried out jointly by the Police and the Council, previous measures have been limited in scope and have not been sufficient to prevent these gatherings.
With the introduction of this Injunction, the police now have the authority to arrest individuals involved in these car meets in certain circumstances, providing a much stronger and more effective enforcement option.
This is only the second Car Meet Injunction to be authorised in London. Several Wards in Westminster are covered by the Injunction: Knightsbridge and Belgravia Ward, Hyde Park Ward, St James Ward and West End Ward. Along with Brompton and Hans Town Ward in Kensington and Chelsea.
This piece of work has been made possible through the joint working between Westminster City Council, the Met Police and Ward Councillors.
You can view the documents for the Injunction at the below link on the Westminster City Council website.

If someone is driving a motor vehicle, they should always be doing so in a safe and considerate manner. Even momentary lapses in judgement can have life changing or devastating consequences for those in the vehicle or innocent bystanders. Activities such as street racing, cruising or performing tricks can count as anti-social behaviour. If you are concerned about this in your area, visit our website for the latest guidance.
