Good News - Royal Victoria & Albert - PWITS Arrest and Proactive Plain clothes hybrid patrols

On FRIDAY 4th SEPTEMBER 2026 at 1813HRS PC Shane APPLETON and PC Paul BLIZNIUKAS were conducting plain clothes cycle patrols when they witnessed a drug exchange on WESTERN GATEWAY E16. The suspect made off but was detained and arrested by PC APPLETON after a cycle pursuit.

The other party was also detained, found with Class A drugs, arrested and then de-arrested for a slow time investigation into possession of a class A substance by means of a Caution +3.

The day in it's entirety with both mobile (PS Damon MOORE, PC Adeyemi ABIOLA, PC Adnan EGAL and S/PC Shakir BHOJANI) and cycle, plain clothes patrols, resulted in 7 stop & searches, 4 community resolutions for cannabis, 1 arrest for class A drugs possession and 1 arrest for PWITS class A. The suspect's vehicle was seized under no insurance as well as a further arrest for breach of immigration offences.
