Anti Social Behaviour Concern Update Regarding Careless/Dangerous Cycling

Anti Social Behaviour Concern Update Regarding Careless/Dangerous Cycling

Here’s a quick update on anti-social behaviour locally. We know it can be distressing, but we’re working closely with partners to make the area safer and support residents.

Dear Courtfield Ward,

Careless cycling and cycling through red lights is a form of anti-social behaviour that affects many of us in the local community.

Last week, we hosted one of our fortnightly "Coffee With A Copper" events at Caffe Nero on Gloucester Road. We do this so we can hear local concerns direct from you. On Wednesday 14th October, we received the privilege to meet 5 year old "C" and her little sister, who prepared an excellent poster she made all on her own!

We had a wonderful chat with "C"s mother who expressed to us her experiences and concerns about anti-social cyclist's riding on pavements and the ignoring the red light traffic signal at crossings. We would like to say a big 'Thank You' to 'C' and her mother for the taking the time to tell us their stories.

We are doing incredible work with our police colleagues in Kensington by regularly tackling cyclists who go through red lights.

Finally, if you ever experience any form of ASB from cyclists please do not hesitate to contact us via the "Reporting" section of the Metropolitan Police website. Please find the link below;

Across London we’ve put hundreds more officers on the frontlines of community crime-fighting teams, upping visible patrols in the right ‘hot spots’ so we can deter and catch criminals - including with new tech like live facial recognition cameras, drones and e-bikes.

Antisocial behaviour can come in many forms and can require support from more organisations than just the police. A full list of what we categorise as antisocial behaviour is available on our website.

If you have experienced anti-social behaviour or have information regarding an incident, please report it using our online reporting tools at https://www.met.police.uk or call the non-emergency number 101.

Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org
