This afternoon, a joint operation between the British Transport Police (BTP) and the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) was conducted at East Croydon Railway Station. The operation utilised specialist drug detection dogs to identify individuals involved in the possession and supply of controlled substances. The operation resulted in numerous drug seizures and several arrests for a variety of offences, demonstrating a continued commitment by the MPS to work with key partners in tackling criminality on the transport network and within the local area. Through a combination of high-visibility patrols, proactive enforcement activity, and intelligence-led policing, officers were able to disrupt offending, safeguard the public, and provide reassurance to those travelling through the station. In addition, a Live Facial Recognition operation was conducted this morning by the MPS in Croydon Town Centre. The deployment led to several arrests, enabling officers to identify and apprehend individuals wanted for a range of offences. These proactive operations form part of a wider commitment to reducing crime, disrupting those who seek to cause harm within our communities, and maintaining a safe environment for residents, businesses, and visitors across Croydon. | ||
