Police action plan for tackling crime around Halloween and Bonfire Night

Dear residents,

You may notice an increase in police presence over the next few weeks.

Your local policing team want to reassure the public that there is a strict plan currently in place for dealing with crime around the Halloween and Bonfire Night period.

We want everyone to enjoy the festivities, and officers will be working hard from Friday 30th October to Sunday November 8 to keep the public safe.

Team will be focused on tackling crime around illegal music events, antisocial behaviour and violence against women and girls.

Lots of our officers will be out and about during this period and we encourage members of the public to approach them for chat around any local concerns.

Hallowen should be a fun occasion. Please find below a few tips to keep you and your loved ones safe:

Plan ahead. If you are planning on going trick or treating, it is safest to visit houses you or your friends and family know.🎃🍬

Children should always be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Be visible. Stick to well-lit areas and take extra care around roads.

Report any crime online or 101.

Call 999 immediately if you feel threatened and there is an inmediate danger to life, violence is being used or threatened or a crime is happenig right out.
