Cazenove

Welcome to Met Engage,

We're transforming the Met to become a service that truly delivers for you.

Through our new platform Met Engage you can get to know your local officers, help shape how we police your local area and have direct access to key information and advice.

This isn't just a platform for us to tell you what we're doing in your area, it's an opportunity for you to tell us what's concerning you most so we can take action on the things that truly matter to you.

Cazenove Safer Neighbourhoods Team

Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

To contact to your team about local policing issues, email us at Cazenove@contact.metengage.co.uk or pick an officer to email below. (Please do not use this contact method to report crime, in an emergency always call 999 or you can report crime online at www.met.police.uk or dial 101).

Local Priority Issues

We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local communities. Based on our conversations with residents, and the issues they have raised with us, our main priorities are:

Priority Action taken

Violence Against a Person

Issued 22 July 2026

This priority focuses on violence against women and girls, and violent offences in high footfall areas of the ward:

High Visibility Patrols to increase presence around higher footfall areas inclusive of the A10 around Stoke Newington and also Stoke Newington Church Street.
Focussed patrols particularly around the safety of women and girls in line with VAWG priorities.
Officers will arrange regular "Walk and Talk" sessions and drop-in sessions for residents across the Ward, encouraging those to come speak with officers and partners alongside increased community events.
Officers will continue to work closely with the Council to provide outreach services and Community Safety Talks.

Antisocial Behaviour - Estates

Issued 22 July 2026

Residents have raised concerns regarding ongoing ASB taking place within the Northwold Estate, Stamford Hill Estate and George Downing Estate.

This priority aims to tackle this ASB in the form of liotering, drug use and loud noise. This will be through regular patrols of the area, increased community engagement and events, and robust enforcement of ASB legislation where required in order to reduce the ASB and improve quality of life for estate residents.

Phone / Theft Snatches

Issued 22 July 2026

This priority concerns theft/robbery offences, specifically of mobile phones and with a focus on offences taking place on busses:

Officers will conduct high visibility and plain clothed operations, adjusting their shifts to accommodate presence during peak offending times. Operation Petorca has been created in order to tackle specific bus related thefts for our local area.
Patrols will be varied through foot and cycle patrols in order to get to harder to reach locations with ease
Phone marking events to be regularly done on the ward to assist with recovery of property
Joint patrols with Hackney Enforcement Officers
Safe corridor patrols around A10 and namely Cazenove to Upper Clapton Road during school times.
TFL ongoing operations also cover bus enabled theft/robbery and violent offences. This is due to continue into the coming months.
