Hoxton West Safer Neighbourhoods Team

Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

Local Priority Issues

We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local communities. Based on our conversations with residents, and the issues they have raised with us, our main priorities are:

Drug Dealing Address concerns regarding drug dealing and associated criminality within the ward through targeted patrols, intelligence-led activity, partnership working, and enforcement against those involved in the supply of controlled drugs. Issued 28 July 2026	Actions: • High-visibility patrols in identified hotspot locations. • Gather community intelligence and encourage reporting. • Execute enforcement operations against offenders. • Work with partner agencies to safeguard vulnerable individuals affected by drug misuse and exploitation. 2. Theft Snatch Reduce theft snatch offences and increase public confidence through proactive patrols, crime prevention advice, and the identification and arrest of prolific offenders. Issued 28 July 2026	Actions: • Deploy targeted patrols in areas of repeat offences. • Provide crime prevention and personal safety messaging. • Identify offenders through intelligence and CCTV opportunities. • Work with transport and local partners to deter offending. Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Tackle anti-social behaviour that negatively impacts local communities by responding to concerns, engaging with residents, and taking proportionate enforcement action where necessary. Issued 28 July 2026	• Conduct regular high-visibility patrols in ASB hotspots. • Engage with residents, businesses, and community groups. • Use appropriate powers and interventions to address persistent offenders. • Work with local authorities and partner agencies to provide long-term solutions.
