This isn't just a platform for us to tell you what we're doing in your area, it's an opportunity for you to tell us what's concerning you most so we can take action on the things that truly matter to you.

Poplar Safer Neighbourhoods Team

Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

Local Priority Issues

We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local communities. Based on our conversations with residents, and the issues they have raised with us, our main priorities are:

Drugs Related Priority Residents have reported that drugs are being dealt from a vehicle around Poplar High Street, the Will Crooks Estate and Shirbutt Street. This is causing upset because lots of residents see it and the drugs are being consumed in Poplar Recreation Ground, where children are playing. Issued 10 October 2025	Poplar SNT will patrol the area regularly, using our stop and search powers and gathering intelligence on vehicles suspected to be involved. Actioned 10 January 2026
Violence Related Priority residents have stated robberies on East India Dock road to be a priority for SNT Issued 10 October 2025	PSCO and PC's to regularly patrol the area and submit intelligence reports. PCSO's to provide residents with crime prevention advice Actioned 10 January 2026
Vehicle Related ASB There are a number of people driving dangerously down Poplar High Street JW Cotton Street. This includes racing and anti-social behaviour; residents feel it is only a matter of time before there is a serious incident on the high street.
