We're transforming the Met to become a service that truly delivers for you.

Through our new platform Met Engage you can get to know your local officers, help shape how we police your local area and have direct access to key information and advice.

This isn't just a platform for us to tell you what we're doing in your area, it's an opportunity for you to tell us what's concerning you most so we can take action on the things that truly matter to you.

Shadwell Safer Neighbourhoods Team

Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

Local Priority Issues

We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local communities. Based on our conversations with residents, and the issues they have raised with us, our main priorities are:

Business Crime Issued 17 July 2026	Our team is focused on reducing offences affecting the businesses on our ward. We're using intelligence led patrols to focus on key areas and offenders, both in uniform patrols and plain clothes operations, with action weeks primarily focused on these offences. In support of these, we continue to develop and maintain links with the local businesses and groups, to improve crime reporting and security arrangements. Actioned 17 October 2026
ASB related priority Issued 22 June 2026	Dellow Street, Shadwell Gardens, Devonport Rd, Ratcliffe Cross St, Hardinge Street - Officers are conducting high-visibility patrols and engaging with residents to tackle persistent ASB and drug misuse. Partnership work with local council and housing associations continues to improve safety and deter offending. Actioned 18 September 2026
Violence Related Priority Issued 22 June 2026	Targeted intelligence led plain clothes patrols and community engagement to raise awareness - Cable Street and the area between Butchers Row/Rotherhithe Tunnel - The team remains focused on reducing robbery and theft offences affecting local businesses and our residents. Regular reassurance patrols and CCTV monitoring are in place to deter further incidents. Actioned 18 September 2026
