Bloomsbury
Welcome to Met Engage,
We're transforming the Met to become a service that truly delivers for you.
Through our new platform Met Engage you can get to know your local officers, help shape how we police your local area and have direct access to key information and advice.
This isn't just a platform for us to tell you what we're doing in your area, it's an opportunity for you to tell us what's concerning you most so we can take action on the things that truly matter to you.
Bloomsbury Safer Neighbourhoods Team
Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.
To contact to your team about local policing issues, email us at Bloomsbury@contact.metengage.co.uk or pick an officer to email below. (Please do not use this contact method to report crime, in an emergency always call 999 or you can report crime online at www.met.police.uk or dial 101).

Local Priority Issues
We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local communities. Based on our conversations with residents, and the issues they have raised with us, our main priorities are:
| Priority | Action taken |
|---|---|
|
Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) on the Ward. Officers will work alongside our partners and stakeholders to actively engage with those in the area, working to deter and disrupt those who would seek the make the area unsafe. This will involve a combination of tactics across enforcement and joint partnership working with our partners and stakeholders. Issued 01 March 2026 |
We have enhanced our local partnership working with both Camden Council and other stakeholders in the Bloomsbury area. We continue to work collaboratively and have recently streamlined our information sharing process, in order to identify high harm offenders and emerging risks, and develop coordinated responses in tackling crime and ASB. This approach will continue into 2026, and will provide the foundation for our Ward based policing plan moving forward. Actioned 01 March 2026 |

Tackling antisocial behaviour (ASB) and crime in the Tottenham Court Road area, including the adjacent open/green spaces. This includes Crabtree Fields and Whitfield Gardens, and surroundings. Working with key partners and those in the community in order to achieve sustainable and long-term solutions to local problems. Issued 01 March 2026 |
The ward team is working alongside local Town Centre Teams to conduct regular patrols and undertake enforcement where appropriate. We are using data to target prolific offenders and are actively enforcing where appropriate. Under operation DEESTORM, the Bloomsbury Ward team having working to reduce crime and ASB across the Tottenham Court Road footprint. This has yielded positive results. We continue to work with third sector organisations to deter drug related anti-social behaviour and provide safeguarding and support. We are also actively working with Camden Council and other key partners in the community, in order to deter and reduce ASB and crime in the area. Actioned 01 March 2026 |

The Bloomsbury Ward team are working to reduce theft offences on the Ward. Under Operation YARROW, Ward officers will be using a combination of tactics in order to deter and apprehend offenders responsible for theft person and retail theft offences. Issued 01 March 2026 |
Operation YARROW is live and officers have been out on the Ward footprint, apprehending offenders and disrupting criminal activity. We will continue to work closely with stakeholders in the Bloomsbury area to ensure we are working efficiently, targeting high harm offenders. We are actively seeking to achieve positive criminal justice outcomes. We are integrating our approach across boroughs and working to build resilience as part of a sustainable approach to this objective. As part of this, a successful live facial recognition operation (LFR) has already taken place, resulting in a significant number of arrests. Actioned 01 March 2026 |
