Kentish Town North Safer Neighbourhoods Team

Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

Local Priority Issues

We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local communities. Based on our conversations with residents, and the issues they have raised with us, our main priorities are:

Priority	Action taken
Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls is a priority for this team. Officers will patrol identified locations where women and girls may feel unsafe and will respond positively and robustly to reports of harassment, abuse, or violence. All reports will be fully investigated, and victims will be supported throughout. We work closely with partner agencies and licensed premises to safeguard those at risk and to identify, disrupt, and arrest offenders. Officers will also carry out targeted patrols of open spaces, particularly at times when concerns are highest. Our approach is informed by what women and girls tell us, as their experiences and concerns shape how and where we patrol to help keep them safe. Issued 01 April 2026	We have already started targeted leaflet drops and high visibility patrols in areas affected by antisocial behaviour. We have also increased public engagement events, giving residents and businesses more opportunities to speak directly with local officers. Details of upcoming events are shared on the Met Engage platform, where you can meet members of the team and tell us about any concerns affecting your area. Actioned 19 April 2026
Antisocial Behaviour (ASB) We will tackle antisocial behaviour by focusing on locations and individuals linked to repeat issues. Officers will carry out high visibility patrols, review incidents reported as ASB, and take appropriate action where behaviour crosses into criminality or involves vulnerable people. Where appropriate, we will use enforcement powers alongside partnership working to prevent further harm. Tools such as ASB warnings, notices, and Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs) may be used to deal with persistent offenders. Cycling Offences We will take action against cycling offences that put pedestrians and other road users at risk. This includes cycling on pavements, failing to stop at red lights, and riding in a careless or anti social manner. Officers will use a combination of engagement, education, and enforcement to improve safety and compliance. Issued 01 April 2026	We have already taken enforcement action, issuing our first Fixed Penalty Notice on Kentish Town Road to a cyclist who failed to comply with a red traffic signal. Officers will receive targeted input from experienced colleagues to ensure cycling offences are dealt with correctly and that prosecutions are pursued where appropriate. Joint ward operations are also being planned to address cycling offences both on our ward and across neighbouring wards. Actioned 20 April 2026
