London Bridge & West Bermondsey Safer Neighbourhoods Team
Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

Local Priority Issues
We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local communities. Based on our conversations with residents, and the issues they have raised with us, our main priorities are:

Robbery / Weapons: This includes all hotspot areas where members of the public are getting robbed of mobile phones, watches and other items mainly around Tooley Street, Borough High Street, St Thomas Street and Tower Bridge Road. This can be from knife point robberies to cycle enabled phone snatches Issued 02 October 2025 |
Ward officers provide a regular police presence in the area to detect and deter criminal activity. These patrols patrols and activities are intel led and focus on times and locations where robbery offences occur. The Safer Neighbourhood Team offer crime prevention advice to members of the public as well as securing additional funding for patrols and signage across the ward area. The team conduct weapon sweeps regularly to in order to remove hidden weapons and prevent their potential use in violent crime. Actioned 02 October 2025 |

The team regularly use Community Protection Warning and Community Protection Notices to help curb the ASB that is associated with drug use. Stop and search where grounds allow is used and those that are found in possession of drugs are processed in the appropriate manner. The team conduct regular engagement activity with the Street Population sign posting them to services in order to house and rehabilitate. Joint patrols with a specialist NHS nurse dedicated to the Street Population, drugs and alcohol support workers, charity outreach workers and the Street Population lead for Southwark Council. Those committing crime or anti-social behaviour are dealt with appropriately Actioned 02 October 2025 |
