London Bridge & West Bermondsey Safer Neighbourhoods Team
Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

Local Priority Issues
We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local communities. Based on our conversations with residents, and the issues they have raised with us, our main priorities are:
| Priority | Action taken |
|---|---|
|
Robbery Issued 01 September 2026 |
This priority focuses on robbery hotspots where members of the public are targeted for mobile phones, bags and other valuables. Key locations include Tooley Street, Borough High Street, St Thomas Street, and Tower Bridge Road. Offences range from knife-point robberies to cycle-enabled phone snatches. Actioned 01 October 2026 |
|
Shoplifting and prolific offenders Issued 01 September 2026 |
The London Bridge & West Bermondsey ward has a high number of small supermarkets that are frequently targeted by prolific shoplifters. These offenders are often linked to wider issues within the ward, including drug use and vagrancy. Actioned 01 October 2026 |
|
Begging, Rough Sleeping and Drug-Related Anti-Social Behaviour Issued 01 September 2026 |
The London Bridge & West Bermondsey ward experiences ongoing issues relating to beggars, rough sleepers, and street drinkers, particularly in Borough High Street, London Bridge Station, and Tooley Street. This contributes to anti-social behaviour, including rowdiness around local businesses, littering and waste near residential areas, and visible drug use. These issues are also linked to other ward priorities, including shoplifting. Actioned 01 October 2026 |
The word cloud below represents the issues raised by residents through their Local Matters survey. We take this into consideration along with discussions with stakeholders, ward panel meetings and conversations with the public when setting our key priorities
