Welcome to Met Engage,

We're transforming the Met to become a service that truly delivers for you.

Through our new platform Met Engage you can get to know your local officers, help shape how we police your local area and have direct access to key information and advice.

This isn't just a platform for us to tell you what we're doing in your area, it's an opportunity for you to tell us what's concerning you most so we can take action on the things that truly matter to you.

Vincent Square Safer Neighbourhoods Team

Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

To contact to your team about local policing issues, email us at VincentSquare@contact.metengage.co.uk or pick an officer to email below. (Please do not use this contact method to report crime, in an emergency always call 999 or you can report crime online at www.met.police.uk or dial 101).

Local Priority Issues

We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local communities. Based on our conversations with residents, and the issues they have raised with us, our main priorities are:

Priority Action taken

Drug related violence amongst homeless community - Centred on Cathederal Piazza and environs.
Aim is to reduce drug related crime. Officers will target the areas during their regular patrols, Stop and search individuals where applicable.
The above is the main area of complaint for the ward and significantly impacts community confidence
Actions from Police and community parties are ongoing under Operation Lerici

Additional Patrols and liaison with charities providing assistance to homeless people.
Additional police resources being obtained.

Actioned 18 December 2025

Homeless Related ASB.
Targeting ASB committed by homeless community across Vincent Square Ward. Police to use Community Protection Notices and other legislation in partnership with Westminster Council.

Issued 05 November 2025

S - To target ASB perpetrated by street population, especially around hotspots such as Westminster Cathedral & Environs.
M - Measured by number of Community Protection Notices issued, as well as anecdotal evidence from officers and the community.
A - Achieved through enhanced patrols in hotspots, as well as joint patrols with Westminster City Council ASB officers
R – This has been highlighted by residents as the key issue affecting the ward at present, leading to a sense of the area at times feeling unsafe
T – To be monitored at the quarterly ward panel meeting

Actioned 05 February 2026

Retail offences (theft from shop and assault on retail staff).
The majority of offences are committed along Victoria Street and often by the homeless community stealing items such as food or other items which can be sold for profit.

Issued 05 November 2025

Enhanced patrols around Victoria street and education of stores regarding crime prevention. Encouraging stores to report shoplifting and not take a passive stance where offences are committed.

Actioned 05 February 2026

The word cloud below represents the issues raised by residents through their Local Matters survey. We take this into consideration along with discussions with stakeholders, ward panel meetings and conversations with the public when setting our key priorities
