Gascoigne Safer Neighbourhoods Team

Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

Local Priority Issues

We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local communities. Based on our conversations with residents, and the issues they have raised with us, our main priorities are:

Priority 1: Theft - Parcel thefts have been on the rise, especially in the run up to the Holiday seasons. Thieves often target unattended packages left in communal areas or on doorsteps Issued 17 March 2026	Action taken: •Increasing patrols in known hotspot areas. •Engaging with delivery companies to promote secure delivery practices. •Advising residents to request parcels be delivered to secure locations or collected in person when possible. If you notice suspicious activity or are a victim of parcel theft, please report it promptly. Your information helps us take action and prevent further incidents. Actioned 17 March 2026
VAWG - Protecting women and girls from violence is a top priority. Everyone has the right to feel safe, whether at home, work, or out in the community. Issued 17 March 2026	Action taken: Working in partnership with local authority and community to reduce, prevent, detect and deter incidents and impact of VAWG on women and girls in Gascoigne . Team will be conducting a range of deployments and activities, including engagements and events to reduce and prevent incidents linked to VAWG. A intelligence led and problem solving approach to those committing offences will see continued partnership and joint working with local authority and key agencies, and third sector to design out and target high harm offenders including use of technology linked to Live Facial Recognition pre planned operations . A mixture of enforcement and engagement work will continue, seeing further referrals into Community MARAC multi agency pathway, and to utilize other tactics linked to Community Protection and Criminal Behavior Orders as and where able.
