Clementswood

Welcome to Met Engage,

We're transforming the Met to become a service that truly delivers for you.

Through our new platform Met Engage you can get to know your local officers, help shape how we police your local area and have direct access to key information and advice.

This isn't just a platform for us to tell you what we're doing in your area, it's an opportunity for you to tell us what's concerning you most so we can take action on the things that truly matter to you.

Clementswood Safer Neighbourhoods Team

Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

To contact to your team about local policing issues, email us at Clementswood@contact.metengage.co.uk or pick an officer to email below. (Please do not use this contact method to report crime, in an emergency always call 999 or you can report crime online at www.met.police.uk or dial 101).

Priority Action taken

Violence Against the Person including VAWG - Ilford Lane and areas leading off from the Town Centre. Paying close attention to the issues surrounding drug dealing, homeless and sex workers. Unsafe areas for women and girls were raised by WP member(s) specifically Ilford Lane.

Issued 12 May 2026

Working alongside our sister team of Loxford; Stop/search, zero tolerance and robust plain clothes patrolling. Various operations specifically through Op Palava; late/night patrols therefore being able to tackle more specific areas.

Actioned 12 June 2026

Interference is regularly reported, suspects appear to be mostly drug users looking for spare cash and any valuables that are left in cars.

High visibility patrols targeting hotspot areas aligned with intelligence trends will be undertaken, as well as leafleting cars and canvasing local areas that could be vulnerable to this type of crime. The team will also make every effort to provide the community regular updates & crime prevention advice across social media platforms used by the MET Police, including MET Engage and local community events.

Tackling antisocial behaviour specifically drug taking and Street drinking around Clementswood key hotspot areas.

High visibility patrols will be undertaken by the team, targeting well known hotspot areas for anti-social-behaviour and positively dealing with any ASB/Drug related crime with a view to positive prosecution if necessary. Police will also be working closely with London Borough Redbridge (LBR) and the Redbridge Enforcement Team to positively impact this element of anti-social crime.
