Fairlop
Welcome to Met Engage,
We're transforming the Met to become a service that truly delivers for you.
Through our new platform Met Engage you can get to know your local officers, help shape how we police your local area and have direct access to key information and advice.
This isn't just a platform for us to tell you what we're doing in your area, it's an opportunity for you to tell us what's concerning you most so we can take action on the things that truly matter to you.
Fairlop Safer Neighbourhoods Team
Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.
To contact to your team about local policing issues, email us at Fairlop@contact.metengage.co.uk or pick an officer to email below. (Please do not use this contact method to report crime, in an emergency always call 999 or you can report crime online at www.met.police.uk or dial 101).

Local Priority Issues
We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local communities. Based on our conversations with residents, and the issues they have raised with us, our main priorities are:
| Priority | Action taken |
|---|---|
|
Barkingside High Street has seen a regular increase from youths involved in ASB and youth violence. There has been a decrease in crimes whereby knives and weapons have been used, on the high street, however, ward panel members want this to stay as priority linked in with Violence against women and girls as a concern. Issued 24 February 2026 |
Fairlop ward officers will continue to patrol identified hotspot areas across the ward, carrying out regular high-visibility patrols and engaging with young people, particularly around school times. This follows ongoing reports of groups of youths from different schools gathering on Barkingside High Street. Actioned 29 May 2026 |
|
ASB/Drugs/prostitution - Trehearn/Trelawney/Saltash Alleyways Issued 24 February 2026 |
Officers from the Fairlop Safer Neighbourhood Team will be carrying out regular high-visibility patrols in the alleyways behind Trehearn Road, Trelawney Road and Saltash Road. The alleyway, which is H-shaped and runs behind these streets, has been the subject of recent complaints from residents regarding drug-related activity, anti-social behaviour, prostitution and fly-tipping. Actioned 29 May 2026 |
|
This priority remains the same as the past ones due to being ratified by the most recent ward panel as it is still a concern that the residents feel SNT should be focusing on: Reduction of theft of motor vehicle & theft from motor vehicle on key streets on the ward (Hughes Road Estate & surrounding) over the next three months. In accordance of problem orientated policing. Issued 24 February 2026 |
High-visibility patrols have been conducted at Redbridge Sports Centre following reports of numerous thefts from motor vehicles, particularly the theft of catalytic converters. Officers have provided crime prevention advice to the centre’s management and staff, along with informational leaflets to help reduce further incidents. Actioned 29 May 2026 |
The word cloud below represents the issues raised by residents through their Local Matters survey. We take this into consideration along with discussions with stakeholders, ward panel meetings and conversations with the public when setting our key priorities
