Ilford Town Safer Neighbourhoods Team
Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

Priority 1: Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Issued 27 October 2026 |
Ilford Town Safer Neighbourhood Team is committed to tackling Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) by increasing engagement with residents, businesses, community groups, and partner agencies. Officers will conduct regular awareness events, provide crime prevention advice, and focus patrols in identified hotspot areas to improve safety and public confidence. We encourage victims and witnesses to report incidents so that appropriate action can be taken and support provided. Actioned 27 January 2027 |

Priority 2: Cycling and E-Scooters on Public Footways Issued 27 October 2026 |
Concerns have been raised regarding cyclists and e-scooter riders using pedestrian footways within Ilford Town Centre, causing safety risks to pedestrians. The Safer Neighbourhood Team will conduct high-visibility patrols, engage with riders, provide education around road safety legislation, and where appropriate take enforcement action against those riding irresponsibly. Our aim is to improve safety and accessibility for all users of the town centre.. Actioned 27 January 2027 |

Priority 3: Drug Dealing and Anti-Social Behaviour - St Mary's Road and Connaught Road Issued 27 October 2026 |
Conduct regular high-visibility and plain-clothes patrols in and around St Mary's Road and Connaught Road to deter drug dealing and anti-social behaviour. Actioned 27 January 2027 |
