Kenley

Welcome to Met Engage,

We're transforming the Met to become a service that truly delivers for you.

Through our new platform Met Engage you can get to know your local officers, help shape how we police your local area and have direct access to key information and advice.

This isn't just a platform for us to tell you what we're doing in your area, it's an opportunity for you to tell us what's concerning you most so we can take action on the things that truly matter to you.

Kenley Safer Neighbourhoods Team

Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

To contact to your team about local policing issues, email us at Kenley@contact.metengage.co.uk or pick an officer to email below. (Please do not use this contact method to report crime, in an emergency always call 999 or you can report crime online at www.met.police.uk or dial 101).

Local Priority Issues

We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local communities. Based on our conversations with residents, and the issues they have raised with us, our main priorities are:

Priority Action taken

1) VIOLENCE RELATED PRIORITY

Proactive patrol on Kenley Ward to reduce/prevent crime's within the Ward. Patrol known hot spot areas on our Ward.
Regular patrols at places known to us as ASB hot spots. GODSTONE RD, OLD LODGE LANE.
Concerns were also raised by the community about Domestic abuse. In response officers will continue to raise awareness and publicity on help /support and reporting options in a focus on this aspect of the Violence Against the person priority

Issued 22 March 2025

Your SNT Team have been out patrolling the hotspot area's. Both on foot and mobile patrols. This has been posted out on recent Police social media. We will continue to support the ward.

Actioned 22 August 2025

2) THEFT OFFENCES

Raising awareness and carrying out reassurance visits. As well as providing residents with crime prevention advice.
Targeting Shoplifters in the Kenley Area.

Issued 22 March 2025

The team often send out posts about crime prevention and patrol current hotspot area's. The ward PCSO has attended a new crime prevention course and will post some useful advise shortly. The ward Sgt spoke with staff at The CO-OP nd advised them to use the 999 call system if they feel 'scared' when shoplifters act. Due to this change in the stores actions response officers managed to arrest two offenders. One of your ward PC's then linked 8 other offences to these offenders, resulting in more charges being laid and remanded them to court.

Actioned 22 August 2025

3) VEHICLE CRIME

Reduce motor vehicle crime such as Theft and vehicle interference by conducting regular patrols in marked and unmarked Police vehicles with pursuit support.

Issued 22 March 2025

The team supported by the ward Sgt with driving skills continue to provide a visible mobile presence to detect and disrupt offenders.

Actioned 22 August 2025

The word cloud below represents the issues raised by residents through their Local Matters survey. We take this into consideration along with discussions with stakeholders, ward panel meetings and conversations with the public when setting our key priorities
