Through our new platform Met Engage you can get to know your local officers, help shape how we police your local area and have direct access to key information and advice.

This isn't just a platform for us to tell you what we're doing in your area, it's an opportunity for you to tell us what's concerning you most so we can take action on the things that truly matter to you.

East Sheen Safer Neighbourhoods Team

Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

Local Priority Issues

We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local communities. Based on our conversations with residents, and the issues they have raised with us, our main priorities are:

Residential Burglary Issued 04 March 2026	Identifying hotspot areas and engaging with response team resources to provide patrols at peak hours. Providing crime prevention advice through quarterly Police Liaison Group meetings, communication with Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinators, WhatsApp and Met Engage and at community engagement events. Victims of burglary and neighbouring properties to be contacted by DWO or PCSO and provided with crime prevention advice. Working with specialist Burglary Squad to identify suspects and secure evidence. Actioned 30 June 2026
Shoplifting Issued 04 March 2026	Identify and target criminals stealing from local businesses. Conduct regular patrols around frequently targeted stores. Work with stores to identify persistent offenders. Work with colleagues in our Volume Crime Team to identify habitual offenders and arrest them. Utilise ASB Powers to to further enforce against habitual offenders. Identify persistent offenders and seek Criminal Behaviour Orders on conviction. Regularly liaise with staff in venues which are being targeted. Provide crime prevention advice, where appropriate, to support shops that are subject to shoplifting. Actioned 30 June 2026
