Southfields

Welcome to Met Engage,

We're transforming the Met to become a service that truly delivers for you.

Through our new platform Met Engage you can get to know your local officers, help shape how we police your local area and have direct access to key information and advice.

This isn't just a platform for us to tell you what we're doing in your area, it's an opportunity for you to tell us what's concerning you most so we can take action on the things that truly matter to you.

Southfields Safer Neighbourhoods Team

Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

To contact to your team about local policing issues, email us at Southfields@contact.metengage.co.uk or pick an officer to email below. (Please do not use this contact method to report crime, in an emergency always call 999 or you can report crime online at www.met.police.uk or dial 101).

Local Priority Issues

We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local communities. Based on our conversations with residents, and the issues they have raised with us, our main priorities are:

Priority Action taken

Violence against the Person
Southfields has long been the safest ward on Wandsworth borough and has no specific violence related concerns. Without taking this for granted, the priority is to keep Southfields as safe as it presently is.

Issued 15 October 2025

In line with the governments Neighbourhood Guarantee, Southfields has two DWOs as well as a PCSO. The officers arewell known and respected within the ward. They will continue to engage with communities within the ward which includes the Southfields Grid Residents Association and Southfields Business forum. The ward has two secondary schools and benefits from a Dedicated Child & Young person officer (DWO-CYP) who provides ongoing education and crime prevention advice to pupils.

Actioned 14 January 2025

Motor Vehicle Crime
There has been a series of theft of radar sensors from vehicles across the borough though there has been a significant number of offences within Southfields ward. In addition, due to the residential nature of the ward, parked vehicles are at increased risk of been targeted.

Issued 15 October 2025

There is continued occurences of theft of sensors from vehicles in Southfields. Foot and cycle patrols are being conducted across the ward with positive interventions such as stop search being utilised where reasonable grounds exist. Intelligence and analysis of crime data along with the use of predictive crime mapping is being used to to identify vulnerable locations and direct patrols.
Crime prevention advice is being provided by reassurance visits to repeat offenders whilst regular engagements such as Cuppa with a Copper remain popular. Met Engage is now fully operational. Officers are utilising the platform to provide operational updates to subscribers

Anti-social Behaviour
To reduce ASB / low level offending in the Southfield LT / Replingham Road area.

Issued 15 October 2025

There has been pro-active engagement with the homeless community who are perceived to be responsible for urination, begging and low level shoplifting. We are working with charities and council services (SPEAR) to provide provision and support. We will use ASB legislation for repeat offenders leading to enforcable Criminal Behaviour Orders where necessary and / or appropriate. Presently we are in liaison with retail managers and local businesses to identify and arrest repeat offenders.

The word cloud below represents the issues raised by residents through their Local Matters survey. We take this into consideration along with discussions with stakeholders, ward panel meetings and conversations with the public when setting our key priorities
