Fairfield

Welcome to Met Engage,

We're transforming the Met to become a service that truly delivers for you.

Through our new platform Met Engage you can get to know your local officers, help shape how we police your local area and have direct access to key information and advice.

This isn't just a platform for us to tell you what we're doing in your area, it's an opportunity for you to tell us what's concerning you most so we can take action on the things that truly matter to you.

Fairfield Safer Neighbourhoods Team

Your Safer Neighbourhoods Team is a group of Met police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers based in your area or 'ward', supported by additional officers from the wider area.

We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across London.

To contact to your team about local policing issues, email us at Fairfield@contact.metengage.co.uk or pick an officer to email below. (Please do not use this contact method to report crime, in an emergency always call 999 or you can report crime online at www.met.police.uk or dial 101).

Local Priority Issues

We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to local communities. Based on our conversations with residents, and the issues they have raised with us, our main priorities are:

Priority Action taken

Drug dealing

Issued 27 February 2026

Op Martello is a home office project to target violence and weapons in Croydon town centre.
This has led to increased patrols by Fairfield and Town Centre Team officers with more stop and searches of individuals concerned in the drugs trade.
Dedicated funding has been provided for additional patrol time by officers in hot spots such as London Road and North End as well as George St.
Officers are using intelligence submitted by the public to target vehicles used by dealers and suspicious activity and business premises that may be aiding and abetting the drugs trade.
Warrants have been recently executed by the town centre team on London Road as a result of intelligence and led to arrests.

Safer Transport teams have been disbanded and incorporated into the town centre teams and increasing resources on Safer Neighbourhoods to work on local issues including the drug dealing. This will increase police visibility especially at West Croydon transport hubs.

Actioned 27 February 2026

Anti-social behaviour across the ward and enforcing the Public Spaces Protection order in the town centre

Issued 27 February 2026

There has been continual enforcement of the PSPO to address anti-social behaviour across the ward. This has led to multiple CPNW's and CPN's being issued to repeat offenders within the area. Working with Croydon council ASB team to address reports of residents causing ASB and long term problem solving.
Joint patrols with Park Guard (Council) and BID rangers to support hi visibility in hot spots.
There will be patrols in the area to address ASB across Fairfield ward and reports of poor behaviour outside schools at drop off and pick up times.
ASB Surgeries held at local cafes as an opportunity for residents to meet the team and address concerns.

Actioned 27 February 2026

Violence against Women and Girls. Offences that target and have a disproportionate effect on female victims

Issued 27 February 2026

Local police are assisting with the deployment of fixed Live Facial Recognition cameras within the town centre footprints. As part of these deployments officers are arresting wanted offenders for violence offences and checking Sexual Offence Prevention Orders are being complied with.
VAWG walk and talk event scheduled for March to discuss resident concerns.
Officers conduct patrols of transport hubs and enforce the PSPO where appropriate.
Op Veyvah - a hi visibility pedestrian safety operation targeting the use of illegal e-bikes and e-scooters is conducted on a regular basis.
